You Can't Buy Class

dan Arsenal kembali belum berhasil menjuarai liga premier inggris untuk musim ini... (musim 2013/2014. red) Yup, Selamat buat para citizens dengan keberhasilan Manchester City menjuarai liga musim ini, setelah pertarungan neck to neck dengan Liverpool sampai dengan pertandingan terakhir pada musim ini. walaupun sempat tampil dengan sangat meyakinkan pada paruh pertama musim 2013-2014, sayangnya tim favorit gw kembali gagal meraih juara liga, dan memperpanjang rekor puasa gelar menjadi juara liga sejak terakhir memenangkannya di musim 2003-2004. Ada satu istilah yang menyebutkan bahwa "Bola itu Bundar", siapa yang bisa nyangka sejak berganti dari Ferguson MU bisa tampil jadi keok, atau Liverpool bisa terkejar oleh Crystal Palace hanya dalam waktu 9 menit dari unggul tiga gol. atau kalau bahasnya Arsenal... ya, bagaimana sejarahnya kalau satu tim yang katanya unggulan tapi bisa dipecundangi 6-1 atau 7-1. :( tapi apa iya itu bikin gw ganti klub? tentu tidak... kalau ngutip satu tulisan kaus dari seorang pendukung United "I'm United, It is about Dedication & Passion, whatever the Score maka as a gooners, gw akan ubah tulisannya jadi "I'm Gunners, It is about Dedication & Passion, Who Cares About Trophy":) dan... Kalau mau dilihat konsistensi dan kelas dari suatu klub, berikut ini satu tabel yang dicompile dari www.statto.com terkait empat peringkat teratas dari Liga Premier Inggris dari musim 2003-2004 s.d 2013-2014 (or in other words, these are the team who able to maintain their final result as one of the Champions League Contender)

Jadi... Teamnya siapa ayo yang paling konsisten masuk Champions?? :) as they say as a Gooners... "You Can't Buy Class"

Konser Cinta Musik Indonesia #KCMI

Karena melalui "Musik" lah Indonesia dapat menyatu, dari  ujung timur hutan papua sampai ke barat pulau sabang

dan karena musik bagus indonesia lah, Konser Cinta Musik Indonesia ini ada.

Yup, last night I went to a musical event entitled Konser Cinta Musik Indonesia. if you would like to check on twitter the hashtag was #kcmi, with performance from 3 performer Kla Project, Vina Panduwinata & Glenn Fredly. it was actually a gathering for those who loved Indonesian Songs. being held at Senayan Tennis Indoor Court it was one hell of a great concert... 

although they say that it will be started at 7.00 pm but it might seem like it refers to the open gate time not the actual performance starts. in short it was late... 

up until a quarter to eight there is still no activity at the stage, the performance start at around 8 o'clock with a performance from KLA Project, here are their set list :

Si Burung Camar, Vina Panduwinata...

dengan kostum berwarna biru, Mama Ina sukses membawa satu tenis indoor koor bersama dengan lagu seperti Logika, Biru, Surat Cinta, Aku Cinta Dia, September Ceria, dll. truly amazed with her vocal and her ability to gather the crowd although she realized that a lot of the crowd wasn't even born yet when her songs hit the market

Salute... sama performance Legenda Indonesia yang satu ini, Suaranya Jauuuuh lebih bagus bila dibandingkan dengan gerombolan girl band yang katanya siy bisa nyanyi itu. beda memang antara suara yang lahir dari festival-festival bila dibandingkan dengan suara yang lahir dari kumpulan seleksi foto. #eh

Last but surely not least, penutup konser ada Glenn Fredly... (yeaay... the crowd gone wild... again...)

sebelum konser,ceritanya siy udah ngafalin lagu-lagu dari set list Luka, Cinta & Merdeka... eh ternyata set listnya semua dari era tahun 90'an dan 2000an.

dibuka dengan Kala Cinta Menggoda, Cukup Sudah, terus ada lagu lama Funk Section Pantai Cinta, Sekali ini Saja, Terpesona, Terserah, Warna, Kisah Romantis.(catatan set list gak komplit karena hilang konsentrasi kelewat seru ngikutin konsernya... : D ) yang pasti ditutup dengan Kasih Putih.

Keren... Keren... Keren...

yang dari luar boleh jadi bagus, tapi kata siapa yang dari dalam negeri sendiri gak bagus...

Musik adalah pemersatu manusia, kalau dari narasi @glennfredly aja ada WR Supratman yang menggubah Indonesia Raya, dan itu jadi pemersatu kita. kenapa juga kita harus meremehkan musik indonesia. Karena musik bukan hanya yang ada di layar kaca, tapi juga yang ada di panggung, di studio, di sekolah, di rumah ketika sedang kumpul2 sama teman, di jalanan. 

Musik Bagus menembus berbagai batasan, baik itu nenek kakek maupun masih anak TK, baik itu seorang pelajar sampai Pimpinan Negara. Presiden kita aja udah rilis album berkali-kali... hebat gak tuh pengaruh Musik.

Rectoverso - The Unspoken Love  was actually a compilation of 5 short movies based on a novel written by Dewi "Dee" Lestari.

and here is some pointers I catch during watching the movies...
know it seems like I didn't concentrate enough at the movie. but frankly speaking. it's a movie about unspoken love. it's good and one of the stories had succesfully made me shed a tears. (yup... the emotion was that deep...)

it is full of nice quotation, but unfortunately for me the final sound mixing became a bit annoying especially there is some part of the movies where the sound became louder than other part of the movies.
the movies as being mention earlier was actually a compilation of 5 short movies. which shows that it is crowded with a lot of main cast. among many... for me the one that stood out was :

Lukman Sardi as Abang (an autism man which happen to fall in love to a girl that ended up being his brother lovers) at one of the short film (heaven knows)

some of the quotation that i loved from this short film was : (it might not exactly the same as what being said at the film. but surely hope i can delivers it good enough)

"when you are counting stars in the midnight sky, do make sure that if there is a stars that doesn't shine as bright as the others... you also count it... you can't just neglect it"

and then the Abang character starts counting it and stop when he reached one hundred and one

and in the end of the film there is a note that sound more or less like this

'one hundred was already perfect, and you are one; which is more than perfect'

other movie that catches me a lot was a movie directed by rachel maryam and written by indra herlambang. the film was called premonition.

first of all... Asmirandah the cast for Senja was drop dead gorgeous... kawaii as the japs might say.

nice quote i catch from this film was

'what is premonition? premonition is the way the universe talk to us.

Since I'm a caffeine addict there is also a quote related to a cup of strong black coffee

'why do i loved my coffee tasted that bitter? because it will remind me that there is always a sweeter things there outside the world that we can be grateful with'

it is for adult movies, so parents... made sure don't brings your kids to watch this movie. and brother & sister... watch our juniors.

"Cinta 24 Jam"

"buah gak akan jatuh jauh dari pohonnya" peribahasanya siy begitu, setiap membahas mengenai sifat atau perilaku kita yang bisa dibilang sebelas duabelas sama sifat orang tua kita... tapi itukan sifat, apa iya kisah cinta akan begitu juga? 

kurang lebih itu yang muncul di kepala ketika selesai baca buku dari andrei aksana ini... 

sekarang, kalau boleh share sedikit mengenai buku ini :

dari covernya saja sudah tempting

kisah mengenai Giana seorang wanita, usia 28 dengan penggambaran sempurna sebagaimana sosok idaman yang dibentuk oleh media. seorang selebriti ternama yang pada saat menutup mata di malam maupun terbangun di pagi hari menyadari bahwa ternyata hidupnya hampa dan semua... hanya panggung belaka. sampai hadir sosok misterius yang awalnya hanya diketahui melalui suara sampai kemudian hadir dalam wujud pria yang di mata Giana. 'Sempurna" walau hanya dalam hitungan jam saja...

buku penuh dengan detail simple dan sederhana tapi sangat mengena dalam membangun imaji pembaca. deskriptif dengan tipikal gaya hidup kosmopolitan serta penuh dengan bait-bait puisi "sadis" bagi mereka-mereka yang pernah mengenal suatu rasa bernama "cinta"

cerita mengalir, walaupun sempat kurang ngeh dengan indikator waktu yang dicetak dengan huruf tebal  dan sepertinya juga menjadi penunjuk untuk perpindahan bagian dari cerita. ringan, karena tokoh yang dibahas pun tak banyak dan kalau bukunya terlalu tebal juga akan kebanting dengan judulnya "Cinta 24 jam"

I just loved how mr. aksana uses poetry as the way to express unspoken feeling from the character, need some light reading to fill your night. this book might just do the trick.

waspadalah... mendadak puitis kemungkinan terjadi ketika sedang membaca buku ini...

oiya satu hal lagi sebelum kelupaan... bukunya 17+ ya...

jadi buat yang masih dibawah 17, cari buku lain dulu saja ya...

"Delivering Happiness"

Delivering happiness was actually a tittle of a book written by Tony Hsieh, He is the CEO of Zappos.com,Inc. as you can see on the cover (below) it got #1 new york times best seller and #1 wallstreet journal best seller and in my perspective, that kind of recognition is not something that we can put aside as simple as that.

my bos used to say that recognition is important. first it shows a form of appreciation about what have been done and achieved. it is also can be used as to reinforced ourselves and our clients that we we're actually doing things right around here and we must have faith in ourselves. it can also be used to redirect others to do things as we planned it to be.

now back to the book, this book actually filled with stories shared from Tony Hsieh as the CEO and founder of Zappos about how things been done in his company. how vision and culture is important for a company and to maintain it will help something being sustainable. zappos with it's ten core values has grown to be a place where people actually wanted to work in it only in a less than ten years running. It describes how people do like to go to work on monday cause being at the office feels like being at home for their employers. 

The language that Hsieh choose and the way he shares his stories through out this book is so down to earth and simple even a guy with minimum knowledge of english such as myself able to understand it quickly. there is a lot of simple line that worth thinking over with. although i got to be honest with you there are some line i skimmed during my reading.

with it simplicity, i've learned that one of our ultimate goals in this world is to be happy and made people that we care happy. it is quiet similar with one of our holy prophet Muhammad S.A.W teaching that "the best example of man amongst you are the one that contributes to others around them"

now , i've said it earlier on this post about zappos ten core values, and here is the list of their core :

"Delivering Happiness" is a book that I strongly recommended for my friends either they were an employee at some office, an entrepreneur, a reporter, a chef, or a guy that works in the government department. either way... either your a one man army kinda guy or you are a captain with teams to be managed, this book will expand your perspective on doing things that you do. It is right to done wrong as long as we learn from the experience. It is the mistakes and loses that hit us that made us able to stand stronger later on. "just look at the wave... we can't stop it... but we can learn to surfs"

yup... Pak Burton kembali membuat film dan kembali berkolaborasi dengan akor favoritnya Om Johnny Depp.

kalau buat gw sendiri... beberapa point yang menarik minat gw adalah sebagai berikut :

- Om Johnny yang jadi Barnabas Collins : dengan makeup seluruh tubuh berwarna putih pucat jadi teringat karakter2 lain yang pernah dia perankan... a bit of edward scissor hand, willy wonka, swenney todd, dll tapi tetep diujungnya karakter yang beda siy...

- Bella Heathcote : kawaii... very chic and classy... jujur ini cewe sama kostumnya manis banget...

- Chloe Grace Moret : ini beda bener sama waktu masih di kick-ass... tumbuh berkembangnya cepat sekali ya...

- Michelle Pfeifer : Cat Lady... wis tuwir rek... tapi tetep nuansa mistis berasa...

- Helena Bonham : pas tante yang satu ini muncul... gw dan temen di kiri gw langsung nyaut... "Bellatrix!" yeah we were that freak... untung yang nyaut bareng gw cewe... jadi seru-seru aja lah... (hello @milo_mine gimana bandung, aman?)

 okay... itu castnya...

mengenai filmnya :

- ada kisah cinta yang berlangsung selama 2 abad... (196 tahun lebih tepatnya) kisah sakit hati yang juga berlangsung selama itu... (berbagai macam hal yang dilakukan seseorang ketika cinta tak berbalas... yg ini saking parahnya sampai ngutuk jadi vampir)

- Never messed up with a mom... especially a dead mom, whom spirit stay put in this world tryin to protect her son.

- dan last but not least :
